Hello! I’m Jen, the artist behind each handcrafted piece of clay and resin Light Shine jewelry. 

With a background in art and design, particularly in large-scale painting, I transitioned into creating small wearable works of art. Polymer clay quickly became my preferred 'canvas,' where I can bring to life the vibrant colors and intricate patterns that inspire me—whether from nature’s palette or the subtle details found in everyday life.

Each piece begins with sketching and experimentation, where I carefully develop a unique vision. I then sculpt the clay, sometimes adding textures, or simply painting and drawing directly on the surface. Every piece is meticulously cured, sanded, drilled, and finished on both the front and back. To add depth and dimension, most of my pieces are topped with a beautiful resin coat, which not only enhances the colors but also provides a protective layer for the artwork.

On average, creating one of my pieces involves over 10 steps, with some requiring many more layers and intricate techniques. Every chain for our necklaces is hand-cut and assembled with care in our cozy studio just outside Pittsburgh.
